Aquela Banda

Aquela Banda is a family run hotel situated in higher part of the picturesque fishing village of Paúl do Mar.  

Although Madeira is not known for its golden sandy beaches, Aquela Banda Hotel is located in one of the most beautiful spots for swimming and surfing, and is situated just 10 minutes from the golden beach of Calheta.

For those who love walking, Paúl do Mar not only offers a unique range of ‘Levada’ walks, which are unique to Madeira; it is also situated close to a number of the most beautiful locations for a range of levada walks.  From Paúl do Mar, the largest and most extensive plateau on Madeira, Paul da Serra; is also close by. 

Aquela Banda Hotel offers you a choice of bed and breakfast accommodation, room only accommodation and self-catering apartments.  Each apartment and bedroom has its own balcony; air-conditioning, and heating.  From each balcony of this hotel, there are wonderful views out over the Atlantic Ocean and of the mountains. 

The Hotel is set on three floors.  The ground floor hosts reception and the breakfast room.  The three apartments are found on the first floor – two studio apartments and one two bedroom apartment, whilst the top floor accommodates seven double bedrooms. 

Also situated on the ground floor is the Cafe Vila Amoré Coffee Shop and the Supermarket.
